Donald Gallant, a board member at the $313 million Catholic Federal Credit Union in Saginaw, Mich., since 1969, died on Aug. 19, the credit union said.

Gallant has served as chairman, vice chairman, treasurer and secretary and the board room is named after him, Catholic FCU said, adding that he was its longest-serving volunteer.

"Mr. Gallant's dedication and support to the credit union and the Catholic community will be dearly missed. He will always be remembered with great respect for his leadership on the board of directors," the credit union said in a statement.
