The technology CUSO of the $2.5 million Wescom Credit Union inPasadena, Calif., is celebrating its first decade of providingsoftware and technology service solutions to credit unions.

Wescom Resources Group made its first sale to Kinecta FCU inOctober 2002, an ATM deposit processing solution, and now offersproducts and services ranging from mobile banking to memberdirected ACH to a Symitar Episys core processing servicebureau to more than 225 credit union clients.

WRG was created earlier that year by Wescom CEO Darren Williamsand Rob Guilford, his executive vice president for technology andfinance, in response to credit union requests for the solutionsWescom had been creating in-house.

Since then, the CUSO has grown year-over-year at an average rateof 25%, subsidizing continued investments in infrastructure andproduct development that now includes its MemberEdge suite of integrated electronic banking software, thecompany said.

WRG's staff also has nearly doubled in the last five years, from50 to 95 today, it added.

“The challenge ingrowing a small business is that you don't want to get ahead ofyour headlights,” said Tim Dolan, president of WRG, who joined theCUSO in 2007 as its second president following Kevin Sarber. “Thisphilosophy allows us to innovate new products for credit unionsthat aren't 'me too' solutions; they are highly configurablesolutions that meet the individual needs of each of our creditunion clients.”
