With a new website dedicated to small businesses, NEFCU ishoping to provide entrepreneurs with an online resource to help runtheir shops.

The $1.8 billion credit union in Westbury, N.Y., has launchedwww.business.myNEFCU.org, Itwill include a listing of upcoming events and seminars, businesscounseling and development resources and networking groups. Thesite will also feature NEFCU's products and services targeted atsmall businesses.

The credit union said it will host a blog that will provideeducational information on all aspects of running a businessincluding finances, law, marketing and human resources.

In addition, NEFCU has created a LinkedIn group titled the LongIsland Small Business Hub so that small business owners can network online to share bestpractices and openly discuss issues and concerns that are importantto the local business community.

“Knowing where to turn to find the right information can be oneof the biggest struggles a small business owner faces.” saidValerie Garguilo, vice president of marketing and communityrelations at NEFCU. “It is our hope that the site will act as aquality resource for the business community and provide businessowners with the information they need to help their businesssucceed.”

NEFCU said it also plans to host networking events, seminars,workshops and webinars to help foster new relationships betweenLong Island business owners.
