The lending work of credit unions was highlighted for Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) when the congresswoman paid a visit recently to the Rockfish Volunteer Fire Department in Raeford, N.C. The department obtained a loan from LGFCU Financial Partners, the commercial lending division of the $1.2 billion Local Government Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, for a station renovation and addition. Ellmers is a co-sponsor of the House bill that would raise the member business lending cap for credit unions.
