Nearly 400,000 people attended the 9th annualBethpage Air Show on Long Island's Jones Beach this past MemorialDay weekend, its sponsors said.

Highlights of the Saturday-Sunday event included the U.S. Navy'sBlue Angels, Royal Canadian Snowbirds, U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptorand United States Army Golden Knights Parachute Team, said BethpageFederal Credit Union and the New York State Office of Parks,Recreation and Historic Preservation.

“Almost 15% of Long Island's population chose the Bethpage AirShow as their Memorial Day holiday weekend destination and we lookforward to continuing to work closely with New York State Parks tobring this irreplaceable and free event to Long Island for manyyears to come,” said Kirk Kordeleski, president/CEO of the $4.7 billion,203,000-member Bethpage FCU.

Other events included two Facebook contests the credit unionconducted for fans to meet performers at a planeside reception. Thecredit union also sponsored Bethpage show pilot and motivationalspeaker Ed Hamill's “Follow Your Dreams” presentation tounderserved students from the Westbury and Uniondale schooldistricts.
