Edwin G. Pustelnik, former president/CEO of Buffalo FireDepartment FCU passed away late last month.

Both Buffalo Fire Department FCU and the larger credit unionmovement were lifelong priorities for Pustelnik, who began servingon the board of the credit union some 40 years ago. He then joinedthe credit union's staff, working his way up from a clerk to a loanofficer, and eventually to its president/CEO.

When Pustelnik decided to retire, he did not go far, returningto the credit union's board of directors as its chairman. In thatrole, he continued to be involved in the advancement of the creditunion.

Pustelnik also served on the Credit Union Association of NewYork's Buffalo chapter council from 1982-1988. He was elected tothe association's board of directors in 1988, where he served until1993. In 1989, Pustelnik joined the board of CUC MortgageCorporation, serving for a number of years.
