Former WesCorp economist Dwight Johnston has a new home: the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues.

According to an email obtained by Credit Union Timesfrom Johnston to his clients, Johnston will join the leagues aschief economist, effective Tuesday.

According to his LinkedIn account, he has been running his owneconomic and market analysis firm, Dwight Johnston Economics, sinceOctober 2010.

According to the email, the leagues will permit Johnston tocontinue to provide economic and market analysis to his currentpaid subscribers and customers; league members will ultimatelyaccess Johnston's commentary through the league as a benefit ofmembership.

In February, Johnston and Callahan Financial Services announced a partnership to provide daily economic commentary;it is not yet known if that arrangement will continue.

Johnston was laid off from the-then Western Bridge FCU in 2010. He had joined WesCorp in July 1998and obtained the title of vice president of economic and marketresearch. He is a graduate of the University of Texas-Austin with adegree in finance and economics.
