Silver State Schools Credit Union in Las Vegas has launched its 2012 Drive for Excellence effort in partnership with with the Clark County School District, 98.5 KLUC, the Desert Automotive Group, 8 News NOW, Walden University and the Orleans Arena. The program rewards high school seniors with a 3.7 GPA or higher through May 3 and no unexcused absences for the entire 2011-2012 school year.  A grand prize drawing will be held on June 7 for a new car – or a $10,000 college scholarship – donated by the Desert Automotive Group, along with other prizes. The Drive for Excellence Program is in its sixth year and kicked off on March 26 with an event at the Northwest Career Technical Academy.
