Heather Anderson joined Credit Union Times' staff full time as the Washington reporter effective April 2. She previously served as a correspondent for CU Times from 2005 through 2010.

In her new role, Anderson will be responsible for covering the NCUA and other relevant regulators, the national credit union trade associations and political news as it pertains to credit unions. She will also assist in the corporate credit union beat, which she covered for CU Times during the corporate meltdown and so-called Black Friday when the NCUA seized the three largest corporates.

Anderson attended Kansas State University's A.Q. Miller School of Journalism, and has placed freelance articles in several major metropolitan daily newspapers, including The Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union-Tribune, Austin American-Statesman, Cleveland Plain Dealer and Kansas City Star. She also worked in marketing and business development at SkyOne FCU and First Entertainment FCU, and most recently provided marketing and business development consulting services to credit unions in Southern California.
