Tiago Splitter, San Antonio Spurs forward/center, brought LaMariposa by Francisco Jimenez to life at the San AntonioBotanical Gardens, reading in Spanish to fourth-grade students fromthe Bonham Academy. The class won the grand prize in the High FiveReaders Challenge, presented annually by SACU and Magic105.3. The $2.9 billion SACU is the “Official Credit Union ofthe San Antonio Spurs,” and has been involved with the High FiveReaders Challenge for ten years. “This program is especiallyimportant because, according to the “America's Most LiterateCities” study for 2011, San Antonio was rated #66 out of 75 citiesacross the United States, so there is a lot to be done,” the creditunion said.
