Heritage Community Credit Union in Sacramento, Calif., ismourning the death of longtime volunteer George Bell Jr., who hasdied at the age of 77.

Bell got his start in the credit union movement more than 37years ago and has served as a Heritage Community CU volunteer since1998.

Through his years of service, he held several elected volunteerpositions on both the supervisory committee and the board ofdirectors, serving as board chairman for seven years. He iscredited with contributing to HCCU's long-term stability.

“The HCCU volunteers and staff were saddened to hear of GeorgeBell's passing,” said Celeste Martinez, president/CEO. “We havegreatly appreciated George's many years of dedicated service to ourcredit union. He will truly be missed.”

Bell is survived by his wife, Brigitte Bell, three sons, and twograndchildren.
