The $533 million, 62,000-member Rivermark Community Credit Unionsaid it is the first credit union in Oregon to offer remote depositchecking.

The Beaverton credit union said more than 1,300 members havedownloaded the free apps for Apple and Android devices since it waslaunched on March 1. PC service is available through the creditunion's online banking site.

“It's still early, but so far over 60% of deposits have beenmade using an Apple device, 30% using an Android device and therest using a PC-based desktop scanner,” said Aaron Bledy, remotedelivery manager at Rivermark Community CU.

“Our members are no longer bound by the proximity of branchlocations, branch hours or the availability of deposit takingATMs,” he said.

Rivermark is using the DeposZip service from Vertifi SoftwareLLC of Burlington, Mass. The EasCorp subsidiary said it now has RDC in place at 78 creditunions.
