Martin Luther King Jr. Day was not a day off for 16 high schoolstudents who spent that Monday at United Educational Credit Unionin Battle Creek, Mich., for a day of financial education. The classfocused on the basics of personal finance, following curriculumfrom the National Endowment for Financial Education. Along withsome important information, the students were peppered with food,fun and prizes throughout the day, including a $25 bonus and acompletion certificate. “We applaud each of these young people, andthe adults in their life who encouraged them to attend,” said FranGodfrey, president/CEO of the $110 million United EducationalCU. “This is a positive commitment to their future.”
