The NCUA on Friday issued an order prohibiting a former employee of N&W Poca Federal Credit Union from participating in the affairs of any federally insured financial institution.
Pamela Mullins, the former employee of the Bluefield, W.Va. credit union, was convicted of aiding and abetting bank fraud, according to the regulator.
Mullins was sentenced to 30 months in prison, three years of supervised probation and ordered to pay restitution of $2.4 million.
Violation of a prohibition order is a felony offense punishable by imprisonment and a fine of up to $1 million.
Mullins and Rebecca Poe, another former employee, were accused of contributing to the failure of the credit union in 2008, when it had $6 million in assets and 1,194 members. Poe was earlier banned by the NCUA.
