In a bid to encourage consumers to switch, Local GovernmentFederal Credit Union has launched a new microsite it calls'Make theMove'.

Designed as a way to showcase the benefits and value of creditunion membership, in addition to driving home the message thatmembers have never paid a debit card fee, the microsite asksvisitors a series of questions aimed at helping consumers decide ifa credit union is a better alternative for them.

Visitors who are eligible to join the $1 billion credit unionare provided a “switch kit” and those who are not eligible to joinLGFCU are redirected to FindaCreditUnion.com orASmarterChoice.org.

“Some banks may have changed their minds in reaction to consumerbacklash, but that's because they realized they didn't put theircustomers' best interests first. As a cooperative of member-owners,you can bet credit unions do have the members' bestinterests in mind,” said Ashley Ruffin, vice president of marketingat the Raleigh, N.C.-based credit union.
