The 159,000 members of the $1.7 billion NEFCU in Westbury, N.Y., can now choose to protect their online banking presence with the use of Trusteer Rapport cybercrime prevention software, the company and credit union said.
The solution from Boston-based Trusteer is a cost- and maintenance-free installation in the members’ Web browser on PCs or Macs that protects against installation of malware and phishing attacks, while also meeting authentication requirements in the FFIEC guidance issued in June, the company said.
NEFCU said it adopted the Rapport software after testing it on the recommendation of its Internet banking provider, Intuit Financial Services.
