In a spirit of competition and service, the staff of Eli LillyFCU in Indianapolis set a goal of acquiring 121 pairs of newathletic shoes for children in need but ended up with 618. In fact,the winning team among seven acquired 208 pairs on itsown. The shoes were destined for the Indiana Credit UnionLeague's annual meeting earlier this month to be combined withother credit unions' donations and sent on to Samaritan's Fee, aninternational charitable organization to provide 10 millionchildren around the world with new shoes in 10 years. “Ouremployees go to great lengths to support the community and othersin need,” said Lisa Schlehuber, the $987 million credit union'sCEO. “I'm in complete awe of their generosity and determination tomake a positive impact. This wildly successful shoe driveillustrates the caring spirit that lives here at ELFCU.”
