As nonprofits continue to struggle, the $810 million Advantis Credit Union in Milwaukie, Ore., has figured out a way to make a real difference in the communities it serves, with GROW: The Advantis Community Fund.
According to Wendy Edwards, vice president of marketing/human resources at Advantis, GROW aims to help revitalize communities by providing access to financial resources to help tackle a wide range of local needs and challenges.
With an initial fund of $50,000 and grants up to $10,000 each, the Advantis awards for small and moderate-sized non-profits were created to seed local projects that offer the most potential for long term benefits.
