WASHINGTON — House Financial Services Committee Chairman SpencerBachus said Tuesday an overabundance of regulation ishampering the nation's economic recovery.

“Regulation is killing America,'' the Alabama Republican toldNAFCU's Congressional Caucus at the Mayflower Hotel. He said thegovernment issues a new regulation once every two hours and 20minutes.

To make his point, an aide brought a box filled with regulationswhich he brought out in several large piles. He said the financialoverhaul bill that Congress passed last year will cost severalbillion dollars to implement.
