Republican presidential candidate and Texas Gov. Rick Perry is scheduled to speak at the Iowa Credit Union Convention Sept. 16.
The Iowa Credit Union League said Perry will share his thoughts on credit unions, the economy and will also take questions from convention attendees.
“We are honored to have Gov. Perry speak at our annual convention this September, and we hope to be able to share some of the issues that are affecting our industry,” said Patrick Jury, ICUL president/CEO.
The Iowa league's convention will take place at the Polk County Convention Complex in Des Moines. The announcement comes just after University of Iowa Community Credit Union President/CEO Jeff Disterhoft lobbied President Obama on raising the member business lending cap at a White House forum on job creation in Peosta, Iowa.
