Four months after dropping a merger deal with the New Jersey Credit Union League, theMaryland and DC Credit Union Association announced Friday it hashired John Bratsakis, senior vice president at $1.5 billion BaxterCU in Vernon Hills, Ill. as its new president and CEO.
Bratsakis, who is a member of CUNA’s Governmental AffairsCommittee, will fill a vacancy left by MichaelBeall, who took the managerial helm at the Missouri CreditUnion Association last year.
Bratsakis has been a director of the Illinois Credit UnionLeague and Service Corporation for 10 years, including serving aschair from 2008-2010. From 1997-2007 Bratsakis was CEO of CommunityTrust CU in Gurnee, Ill.
