The $894 million SELCO Community Credit Union in Eugene, Ore., is adding remote deposit capture to its teller line and outsourcing its check processing through the global data center of VSoft Corp. of Atlanta.

SELCO will be one of more than 60 financial institutions using the VServe center until it is prepared to move the operation in-house using the same VSoft products, the company and credit union said.

“In addition to providing the advanced technology we need to compete and gain full Check 21 advantages, VSoft enables us to seamlessly convert the solution to an in-house operation and add other products to enhance our efficiency and services,” said Lee Anne Brockelman, operations support manager for SELCO.

The VServe center operates around the clock and is staffed by operations specialists, network architects and application administration managers, the company said.

“In addition to being equipped with tools to enhance productivity and reduce costs, SELCO now has the foundation to implement additional services in the future both quickly and easily,” said Murthy Veeraghanta, chairman and managing director of VSoft.

VSoft said it now offers payment processing solutions to more than 1,900 financial institutions and recently added a core processing system.
