To help consumers interested in developing new bank relationships, Money Magazine has ranked the “Best Banks of 2011” and the $7.9 billion Alliant Credit Union in Chicago made the cut.

Named the “Best All-Access Credit Union,” Alliant was recognized for its “combination of an open door policy and competitive offerings.”

In addition to offering competitive yields on savings and checking accounts, Alliant has made it easy for consumers to feel good about joining, the magazine noted.

As a qualifying organization for Alliant membership, anyone who becomes a member of Foster Care to Success with their $10 or greater donation, can join the 282,000-member credit union.

Rounding out the “Best Bank” list in the September issue of Money Magazine were TD Bank, Discover Bank, ally Bank, Bank of the West, Huntington and US Bank.
