During a road trip around Spokane, the head of the SpokaneValley, Wash.-based credit union made stops at five differentnon-profit organizations and presented them each $5,000.

The lucky recipients included the Women's & Children's FreeRestaurant, Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Union Gospel Mission, TheHutton Settlement, and the American Childhood CancerOrganization.

According to Cutter, who's retiring soon after 40 years at the helm of the $1.1 billionNumerica, spending an afternoon hand-delivering donations toorganizations that do so much to serve the community, is just thecredit union way.
