The $3.2 billion Ent Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colo., is now offering remote deposit checking to its 204,000 members.

The RDC service allows members to take pictures of checks and deposit them instantly into their accounts. It's available through downloadable apps for iPhone and Android devices and is using technology from Vertifi Software, part of EasCorp in Burlington, Mass.

"As more of our members are using their smart phones to do their banking, we continue to look for new ways to use these devices to make managing their money more convenient," said Cathy Grossman, Ent's vice president of corporate communications.
