The $925 million Empower Federal Credit Union in Syracuse, N.Y., is now offering digital signing of documents to its 96,000 members.

Empower FCU has implemented the TotaleAtlasWeb solution from Integrated Media Management of Linden, N.J., which uses public key infrastructure via the Web to offer 7/24 remote document signing.

“As we transitioned from an open-end to close-ended lending environment, incorporating digital signatures has really offset the additional traffic that our branches would otherwise incur, not to mention the added manual work for employees,” said Kevin Peterson, vice president of consumer lending.

The credit union requested that live links not be used, so the solution was integrated with the home banking platform. It sends e-mail prompts and automatically sends, archives and indexes documents within Empower FCU's imaging system under the member's account without manual intervention, the company and credit union said.

IMM said it now provides document output and automation technology to more than 600 customers.
