Raleigh, N.C.-based State Employees' Credit Union is ready toroll out its improved Estate Planning Essentials Program to membersstatewide.

Piloted last year to employees and recentlyto SECU volunteers, the program was developed to fill members’needs for basic estate planning.

Through the Estate Planning Essentials Program, a member'sestate planning package can include a will with possible trustprovisions, a Durable Power of Attorney, a Healthcare Power ofAttorney and Living Will, and an HIPAA Authorization. Packages areprepared by experienced estate planning attorneys who have agreedto complete the documents at a set member price. Basic programcosts are $250 for an individual and $350 for a couple. The latestversion of the program now also includes a new loan product forthose members who don’t have a will and are concerned with theexpense of having one prepared. Currently at a 10.75% rate, theloan allows members up to 12 months to pay for the program.
