Raleigh, N.C.-based State Employees' Credit Union is ready toroll out its improved Estate Planning Essentials Program to membersstatewide.
|Piloted last year to employees and recentlyto SECU volunteers, the program was developed to fill members’needs for basic estate planning.
|Through the Estate Planning Essentials Program, a member'sestate planning package can include a will with possible trustprovisions, a Durable Power of Attorney, a Healthcare Power ofAttorney and Living Will, and an HIPAA Authorization. Packages areprepared by experienced estate planning attorneys who have agreedto complete the documents at a set member price. Basic programcosts are $250 for an individual and $350 for a couple. The latestversion of the program now also includes a new loan product forthose members who don’t have a will and are concerned with theexpense of having one prepared. Currently at a 10.75% rate, theloan allows members up to 12 months to pay for the program.
