The 550 credit unions using the Symitar Episys core platform will now be offered the Gladiator Enterprise Security Monitoring solution from a sister division at Jack Henry & Associates.

The Gladiator ESM was rolled out to bank core processing clients in 2008 by Jack Henry's ProfitStars division, not long after the Monett, Mo., company acquired Gladiator Technology Services of Atlanta.

The Episys version is fully integrated with the core platform and IBM pSeries host systems, providing host-based protection with expanded monitoring and reporting capabilities, the company said.

Preemptive measures track key security and performance events in the core system, capturing “audit events” and flagging any items that require immediate attention, the company said.

“Our ESM for Episys solution can help protect credit union clients against the Red Flag activities that could indicate identity theft as mandated by the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions or FACT Act modifications, and help manage security threats in real time,” said Danny Johnston, group president for Gladiator Technology. The company said it also is developing an ESM module for the NetTeller Online Banking platform.
