A new website aimed at helping credit unions better educate and arm themselves against card fraud has been launched by the Credit Union Risk Council.
The site includes the first secured channel of communications with law enforcement of its kind specifically for credit unions working with cards, the council said.
The site at also includes card risk information, news and other resources, including an interactive forum for credit union staff, law enforcement and Visa and MasterCard companies.
"The CURC is very excited about this new site as it serves the dual purpose of providing a custom-built resource to credit unions and an outlet for outward communication to the credit union industry regarding card risk issues," said Steve Ruwe, council chairman and chief risk officer at PSCU Financial Services in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The CURC was formed in 2008 with participation from Card Services for Credit Unions, Credit Union Card Center, Credit Union 24, CUNA Mutual Group, Jack Henry & Associates, The Members Group, Pennsylvania State Employees CU, PSCU Financial Services and TNB Card Services. Its advisory participants include the FBI, MasterCard, VISA, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and U.S. Secret Service.
