Membership has certainly paid off for Motorola Employees Credit Union members who have been given back $1 million.
The special year-end dividend came from the money that remained after the Schaumburg, Ill.-based credit union paid operating expenses and regular dividends for the year and set aside an appropriate amount for reserves.
Members were paid $31 on average with the top 10% of active members-those who made the greatest use of the credit union's services-receiving an average of $158 in special patronage dividends.
