It's a big day in Congress and for the $630 million Congressional Federal Credit Union as it greets the opening of the new session today by plying Capitol Hill with an iPad ready to sign up new members.
A staffer from the 43,000-member Congressional FCU is using a new iPad and specially developed application from Integrated Media Management of Linden, N.J., to extend the member enrollment process beyond the walls of the four branch offices the credit union already has on the Hill.
The TotaliEnroll application provides the ability to open a range of checking, savings and loan accounts, along with e-signature capability so the deal can be done on the spot.

"This is kind of an unprecedented year for the number of new people coming in, both for new congressmen and for new committee staffers," said David Hufnagel, vice president of information technology and operations for Congressional FCU.
"Using an iPad like this allows us to have a more casual interaction with all the new folks settling into their new offices, much more so than if we tried to use a laptop or had to just invite them to stop by one of our offices," Hufnagel said.
"Now we have a great opportunity to make it happen right now and walk away with them as a new member," he said.
