William Ferrence, president/CEO of $490 million Boulder Dam Credit Union in Nevada, died Sunday.
Ferrence, who long espoused the resilience of his CU in the face of the deep Nevada recession, had also been a backer of private CU insurance, being one of the American Share Insurance users. His CU in Boulder City, on the outskirts of Las Vegas and among the state's top five, for a time fared better than most in handling the housing collapse.
Details on funeral arrangements were being made, a spokeswoman said.
