The nation's retailers may be prepping for Nov. 26′s Black Friday but in Pennsylvania the $25 million Postmark Credit Union of Harrisburg is getting ready for "Cyber Monday" when it holds a cut-rate, one-day-only loan sale.

The CU's loan promotion is timed to coincide with post-Thanksgiving shopping fever on Nov. 26 and the surge in internet business on the following Monday, Nov.29, a Postmark spokeswoman said.

"Our CEO, Dave Frey, thought of the idea and we're excited about the campaign," she said, adding that rates will be reduced starting at midnight Nov. 29 on a variety of products including personal loans and Visa transfers. Also included are online banking incentives and more reward points. A special Christmas loan rate will be cut from 4.99 to 3.99% for the day, Postmark said. The credit union expects to announce the rate reductions on its website next week.

The CU will also be offering extended hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 29 "to enable members to have more time to take full advantage of the 'one day only' offers," it said.
