For its member service and business practices, the $938 million Barksdale Federal Credit Union was the recent recipient of a Torch award from the Better Business Bureau.

The Bossier City, La.-based Barksdale FCU was one of two financial institutions nominated in the large business category. The CU received the award at an Oct. 9 luncheon. The BBB said it evaluates businesses' commitment to customer service through exceptional standards for ethical business practices in determining its Torch award recipients. There were eight nominees in the large business category and 15 in the small business category.
