A pair of technology providers said they have combined their human emulation and online account opening tools to help reduce the number of abandoned applications.

Next IT said its ActiveAgent software allows users of uMonitor's uOpen and uFund solutions to interact with a financial institution in a way similar to talking to a live person. The first user of the combined technologies is $9 billion BECU in Tukwila, Wash.

"Our first deployment with the uMonitor platform last year gave us insight into this workflow process, and together we will provide greater value to our common clients," said Fred Brown, founder and CEO of Next IT in Spokane, Wash., whose clients also include airlines and the U.S. Army.
