NAFCU's annual Congressional Caucus gets underway Monday with keynote speaker conservative political commentator and former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan. The conference and Capitol Hill visits run through Sept. 22 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.
Some prominent legislators and regulators will be addressing NAFCU's Caucus as well. Monday includes NCUA Board Member Gigi Hyland, Senate Banking Committee Member Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii), and House Financial Services Committee Member Rub?n Hinojosa (D-Texas).
For those not making Hill visits on Monday afternoon, Credit Union Times Editor-in-Chief Sarah Snell Cooke will be joining NAFCU Public Relations Manager Patty Briotta for a session on working with the media.

Edward DeMarco, acting director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network Director James Freis, Federal Housing Administration Commissioner and David Stevens are the regulators slated for Tuesday's agenda. The legislators comprise Banking Committee Member David Vitter (R-La.), Financial Services Committee Member Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) and Joint Economic Committee Co-chair Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.).
On Wednesday, conferees can hear from Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) and Members Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa.), Ed Royce (R-Calif.), Jim Himes (D-Conn.), Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Leonard Lance (R-N.J.), Jackie Speier (D-Calif.), Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), Brad Sherman (D-Calif.), Scott Garrett (R-N.J.), Chris Lee (R-N.Y.), Ed Perlmutter (D-Colo.) and Lynn Jenkins (R-Kan.). They will be joined by Banking Committee Member Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and NCUA Board Member Michael Fryzel.
