Rep. Jim Himes (D-4th Conn. District) is among the growingnumber of legislators who believe raising the member businesslending cap will be pivotal for job creation.

Hines, a member of the House Financial Services Committee, metwith the Credit Union League of Connecticut and representativesfrom a dozen of the state's credit unions at an Aug. 5luncheon.

"Creating jobs rates high importance today," Himes told thegroup, adding "and most jobs will come from small businesses, notthe large corporations. We need to focus on enhancing the smallbusiness loan, particularly from credit unions and raise thepercentage cap. This is what will help create jobs and work towardimproving the economy."
