Credit union officials in Texas and Brazil aim to beef up their strategies for serving agricultural members as part of World Council of Credit Unions' partnership program.

Collaboration will continue in September, with a four-week visit by 11 SICREDI staff to TCUL and its member credit unions, in order to get a better sense of how U.S. credit unions approach operational, marketing and member service issues, TCUL said in a release. The U.S. visits will be reciprocated in the future with a trip by TCUL staff and members to Brazil.

"We are enthusiastic about solidifying a partnership with SICREDI. While they are a relatively young movement, they are quite sophisticated," said TCUL president and CEO Dick Ensweiler. "I'm extremely impressed with the level of cooperation that exists between SICREDI's member credit unions, and I'm confident that this will be a mutually beneficial relationship."
Ensweiler went on to say that this partnership opens the door for dialogue as well as the exchange of ideas and best practices between Texas credit unions and counterparts in Brazil.
