The TV reality show, "America's Got Talent" is getting a credit union version this fall thanks to some creative work of the Missouri Credit Union Association and its eight chapters.
As it turns out, the chapter leadership, looking for ways to foster CU camaraderie and cooperation hit upon using the social network to conduct a "Credit Unions Got Talent" competition with amateur videos being worked up now.
Already there have been five videos submitted to league offices with entries being uploaded to the MCUA website and eventually to YouTube, said a spokeswoman.

The Missouri CU community will pick the winning video during the annual convention Sept. 14-16. Winners receive and all-expense paid trip to St. Louis to perform at a special credit union event Dec. 17.
"The winner's chapter earns statewide bragging rights," said an MCUA newsletter.
The "Credit Unions Got Talent" application forms are due by July 31 and the actual performance videos showing talent are due by Aug. 16.
"We've already got one employee playing a guitar, another singing and one more on piano," said a spokeswoman noting the idea for the competition came out the annual Chapter Leaders Conference in June.
One goal "of this friendly competition is to get more young people involved in credit union work," said the spokeswoman. The event also has its own website.
