Robert H. Harvey Jr., president/CEO of the $544 million Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union and the former chairman of WesCorp, is retiring next April.
Harvey, whose industry service stretches 27 years, is a past chair of the Washington Credit Union League and the African American Credit Union Coalition. A successor at Seattle Metro has not been named, said the CU.
He joined the Seattle CU in 1992 after previously serving as both vice president of loans and operations at Lockheed FCU in Burbank, Calif. where he began his CU career in 1983.

Earlier, Harvey held managerial jobs at Wells Fargo and Bank of America in Los Angeles.
Harvey had been the WesCorp chairman during the NCUA's March 2009 conservatorship of the California-based corporate. He had been elected to the WesCorp board in 2001.
Harvey, a former Marine Corp. officer in Vietnam, has served on numerous industry boards including as a member of the Filene Research Institute Advisory Council and the Washington State representative for CUNA Mutual Group's Owners' Advisory Council.
He was honored as Washington State Credit Union Professional of the year in 2003 and CUES Executive of the Year in 2003. Harvey was inducted into the CUES Hall of Fame in 2004. He was a member of the African American Coalition board since 2002.
He is a graduate of Grove City College in Pennsylvania, with a B.A. degree in math. After college he worked briefly as a management trainee for Sears in Washington, D.C.
