San Diego County Credit Union announced Wednesday evening that Teresa Halleck, CEO of The Golden 1 Credit Union, has been named SDCCU’s next president and CEO effective Aug. 16.

Halleck has served eight years as president/CEO of The Golden 1 Credit Union headquartered in Sacramento, Calif. She oversaw the credit union during a time when it grew from $4.2 billion to $7.2 billion in assets. The credit union also added 19 branches and expanded its field of membership and products and services during that time.

She comes to SDCCU with over 20 years of financial institutions industry experience. She currently serves as an executive committee member of the California Credit Union League and on several other boards.

“After an extensive national search which produced a number of highly qualified candidates, Teresa was the perfect fit for SDCCU based on her extensive executive level management experience, proven track record in running large financial institutions, and appreciation of SDCCU’s culture and focus on our customers’ needs,” said Allan Shaw, chair of the SDCCU Board.

Halleck succeeds Tum Vongsawad who served as interim president/CEO since February. He will return to the chief operating officer position after Halleck arrives.
