The Democrats got the final vote they needed to assure passage of the financial overhaul bill when Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) said he would support it.

The bill will "end bailouts, add common sense consumer protections and make sure that Nebraska Main Street businesses are not adversely affected as we rein in recklessness on Wall Street," he said in a statement.
