The Filene Research Institute has picked up a new supporter.
Card Services for Credit Unions, the association of credit unions that process card transactions on the FIS platform, has announced it has become the most recent Gold level sponsor of the credit union think tank.
"Investment in the Filene research and innovation demonstrates CSCU's commitment to supporting the future of credit unions," says Robert Hackney, president of CSCU. "We're eager to work with the Filene board and staff to make consumer intelligence and creative ideas readily accessible to credit union leaders, providing them with the tools they need to help their institutions grow and prosper."
"Credit unions and the companies that serve them are eager to learn how to operate in 'the new normal,'" said Mark Meyer, CEO of the Filene Research Institute. "We're both thrilled and thankful for this vote of confidence from CSCU during this time of real opportunity. It will allow us to grow our essential research and innovation projects on behalf of all credit unions. While the financial contribution is substantial, equally important is the formation of a partnership with an important provider of products and services to credit unions."
Credit unions will succeed to the extent that they anticipate the market demands of the future, and arm themselves to win the battle for the hearts and minds of consumers of financial services, according to Hackney. Evolving challenges make support of the Filene Research Institute's efforts critical to industry growth, he said.
Gold level benefactors commit to at least $49,000 in support per year, according to Filene's website, though the organization noted "recession discounts available."
