Toledo area credit unions and the NCUA were coming to the assistance of the $8.9 Woodco FCU in Millbury, Ohio, which sustained major damage when a tornado touched down Saturday destroying a high school where the CU is located.
The education-based CU was closed at the time and no one was injured. CU employees were attempting to get back into the building today to secure records, said the Ohio Credit Union League, but police for the time being were barring visits.
The NCUA said its staff was on-site today helping the CU find an alternate location, expecting to open in a new site probably another high school by the end of the week.

"We've had offers from many credit unions in the area to help them out in finding a new location and with computer and equipment needs," said Becky Hart, head of communications for the league.
At last count, the CU, located 10 miles southeast of Toledo, had five employees. Juanita Zunk is the CEO.
