A new disaster recovery system for the online banking solution used by more than 100 credit union clients of WESCO Net and CU*Answers has passed a major test, the CUSOs said.

The test involved recovering a back-end IBM System-I mid-range computer system at an IBM-operated backup site while online banking Web traffic was served out of WESCO Net's new data center in Muskegon, Mich.

The companies said the standby site now could be activated in less than 10 minutes to handle a failure of the host production site.
