House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) is scheduled to be one of the guests today at the opening of HarborOne Credit Union's HarborOne U, an education center that will offer a number of financial programs.

Seminars on youth financial literacy, first-time home buyers, credit counseling and classes on retirement and estate planning are some of the programs that will be offered at HarborOne U. According to the $1.8 billion HarborOne CU in Brockton, Mass., its education center builds on the success of its Multicultural Banking Center, which opened in September 2007 to provide low and moderate income residents with access to financial information to help them avoid predatory lenders and assist those facing foreclosure. More than 2,000 people have taken courses at the multicultural center, the CU said.

Located in Mansfield, Mass., HarborOne U will also offer financial education to small business owners, women and young adults.
