Online Resources Corp. said it has received a new patent for a number of its biller service provider bill payment transactions.

The company said the new patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is a continuation of one that expired in December and grants until mid-2014 its "exclusive rights to process various real-time electronic ATM network-based debit transactions for consumers using home terminals to purchase goods or services, pay bills and/or do home banking."

It said the patent also covers BSP bill payment transactions including payments using credit cards, debit cards and PIN-less debit via live agent, IVR and Web-based payment systems.
