The Biz Kid$ come to Wall Street today and they get to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange.

The event, in support of financial education and to show credit union awareness, officially marks the fourth season of the youth literacy show on public television.

"It is great to be bringing financial literacy to the home of modern finance," declared John Annaloro, president/CEO of the Washington Credit Union League, the lead trade group since 2006 on underwriting production costs for the show.

Joining Annaloro on the NYSE balcony will be a contingent of youngsters, Seattle production executives and CU officials involved in promotion of the TV series.

"Ringing the closing bell is just the latest recognition of Biz Kid$'s importance and scope as well as all the work and dedication that the credit union community has shown," said Annaloro in describing "the success of this hit series."

Also taking part in the bring-down-the-gavel ceremony will be Mark S. Brantley, chairman of Municipal CU of New York, representing the African American CU Coalition; Clifford Rosenthal, president/CEO of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions and Kent Buckham, director of NCUA's Office of Consumer Protection.

The Washington League said its "Biz Kid$ team" is visiting the NYSE in celebration of National Financial Literacy Month. It is not the first time the Biz Kid$ has been to Wall Street. In April 2009, the Biz Kid$ visited NYSE's cross-town rival, NASDAQ.

Apart from ringing the bell the Biz Kid$ group is also partnering this month with New York PBS station WNET to host a teaching session to demonstrate the show's curriculum to New York City teachers.
