The National Credit Union Foundation is accepting applications for its 2010 round of Innovation Grants. Innovation grants are tied to the Foundation's REAL Solutions program but applicants do not have to participate in the program.
The Foundation gives grants in the areas of education, which includes financial education, financial counseling, product awareness and staff training; transaction services which focus on services for underserved members such as checking cashing, money orders, pre paid cards and remittances; savings programs which include measures to help members establish and maintain savings; credit program which include products and services designed to help members start building credit reports or improving the ones they have and home ownership. Home ownership programs include products and services which can help members prepare and start home ownership.
The grants are open to credit unions, CUSOs, state credit union associations, state credit union foundations and other organizations owned or controlled by CUs.
