In a step designed to make it more appealing to credit unions seeking to consolidate their ATM and card processing, Credit Union 24 has announced that it can now bill debit card payments without personal identification numbers.

Jim Gowan, executive vice president for the credit union owned ATM/EFT network acknowledged that the ability to let ATM and debit cardholders pay bills without using a PIN has been around for a while, but that the Credit Union 24 network had not yet added it.

"Credit unions can generate increased interchange income by encouraging members to utilize the PIN-less bill payment method, while simultaneously reducing back office expenses of processing check and ACH returns," said Credit Union 24 CEO Jim Park. "Credit Union 24 also offers marketing materials to help credit unions communicate this new service to their members, allowing credit unions to focus on their number one mission: member service. The seamless introduction of this enhancement to our participants is truly a win-win situation for our credit unions and their members."
